Mouse's Melody devised by students of Advanced Theatre 1 and Esther Newell
Aftershock is the story of Ruthie who is writing a paper about the aftermath of tragic world events. Through stories told by her brother, the audience is taken to 1945Europe after the liberation of concentration camps, 2005 New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and 2008 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo following militia conflicts. The play is ultimately a story of healing after tragedy.
Mouse's Melody is the story of shy Millie Mouse who, with the help of her friends, overcomes her insecurities and enters the school talent show.
International Thespian Society Troupe #5757 presents Night of One Acts.
The Advance Theatre 1 class will present Mouse's Melody, an original script devised and designed by the students of the class and Esther Newell, instructor. Mouse's Melody will be NWR's entry to the Theatre for Youth Festival at the Mississippi Theatre Association State Festival on January 2019.
Theatre Production class will present Afterschock by Joe Calarco. Aftershock will be NWR's entry for North Mississippi DramaFest in December, 2018 and Mississippi ThesCon, February 2019.
